CHRISTMAS DAY

Santa and the elves worked very hard on the kids gifts this year...and all the Mackay children were very happy on Christmas morning.

Chance got his "dream" skateboard.

and "Dallas Cowboy Fatheads" for his new room.

Easton got more "Halo" toys and of course Santa brought the exact bike that Easton had explained to him in great detail. It needed to be yellow and orange, made by Tony Hawk, and have pegs!

Hannah (still half asleep) but a good sport to get up early for her brothers...got lots of clothes, a book, makeup etc.

The biggest surprise for the girlies....THEIR NEW IPHONES. Oh wow, Santa must be nuts. We haven't seen the girls since these beauties arrived. The possibilities are endless. I'm sure their just coordinating with friends about homework and stuff. Ha, ha, ha....NOTTTT!

Daddy got a new pancake griddle from the kiddies...he is famous for his Sunday morning flapjacks!

My Dad and Jody came over after church for brunch. As always, we just layed around and laughed. Jody (my stepmom) cracks me up. She recently got 1/2 her kidney removed and is still recovering...so being as warped as we are...made kidney jokes all day:) She could hardly make it out to the car by the time they left because we made her organs so sore!

Guess who went and got a "real" reindeer footprint and picture of that reindeer and gave it to Chance?? Yep, my crafty, cute Dad! He probably got the idea off of "Good things Utah" because he and I share a great love for that show. (He's going to kill me for writing that.)
Chance thought that was the "coolest ever." He and Dad are going to go meet that reindeer in REAL LIFE very soon.

Poppy and Dotty came out too. They spoiled the kids. And they gave our family this awesome "handcrafted" paddle from Hawaii...it is only given to special people as a token of love. Poppy teared up when he told us the meaning behind it. So awesome.
A few days before Christmas, he and Dotty made a surprise DROP OFF at our front door with a fiber optic (super classy) Santa decoration, and plugged it in on the front porch. Then sent me a text "Feliz Navidad" from Mom. Yay, I'm so glad my Mom bought such eclectic decorations and now I'm the proud owner. Ha ha ha.
Our family has come so far in the last few years. Something that at one time i thought could never be restored has blossomed beyond words. I'm so grateful for ALL of my family this Christmas. We are very blessed.

Christmas Eve

Breakfast is our "official" Christmas Eve tradition. We always spend this special night with Brandon's side of the family, and we really enjoy it every year. This year was especially fun because Zac and Sarah announced that they are expecting their second baby! It was really fun to see Kim's reaction as she realized she would be a Grandma again. I'm so glad they shared this special moment with all of us.
We played a game of "pass" while reading "Twas the night Before Christmas", and the kiddo's opened their gifts from Grandma and Grandpa.

I wonder if Brandon took this by himself??? hmmmm:) ha ha ha

We started the party earlier this year so everyone had time to get home and do their last minute chores. So, after we cleaned up, Brandon and I took the kids downstairs and watched "The Christmas Story" together. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy the rest of the evening snuggled up with our kiddos. I love them all so much.
When we finally went upstairs to tuck everyone in bed, we noticed that "Elfie" had left an "early" gift under the tree. JAMMIES!

Santa Party

Each and every year, we get together with the Culley's and the Mackay's WHOLE FAMILY and have THE SANTA PARTY. The kids just can't wait for this day and their chance to get on Santa's lap and give him the rundown of what they are asking for for Christmas.

Santa always has a few facts on each child and that really shocks them when he comes back at them and strikes a deal. Like, "please help your mom more," or "you need to get your english grade up!"

My boys are at the greatest ages for Santa. Their eyes just gleam when he arrives. Although Chance is trying to play it cool...he is a BELIEVER. He admitted to Santa that he needs to work a little harder on his homework and doing his chores. Easton on the other hand....LIED THROUGH HIS TEETH.

Chance asked for: a skateboard, a real reindeer foot print, and a couple of xbox games.

Easton wanted: a new bike...a very specific bike! A bright yellow "Tony Hawk" BMX bike. And some Halo toys.

BIG SURPRISE....BOTH GIRLS WANTED THE IPHONE! Santa laughed and laughed and couldn't promise anything. Seeing that there is a monthly bill included with that request!

And as usual, Chance dared his Auntie Amanda to tell Santa he smelled like "beef and cheese" and....seeing how she never turns down a dare, TOTALLY DID IT. AGAIN. EVERY YEAR. SO EMBARRASSING. SO FUNNY.

From the mouths of "our babes":

*Our doorbell rang. Chance ran to get it. No one was there. He said, "oh darn,it must have been a knocker-ditcher." (Otherwise known as a doorbell ditcher.)

*Chance climbed in the back of the car this afternoon, and said "ewww mom, the back of your car smells gross...it smells like fries and poo all mixed together."

There was a little boy acting very naughty in Chances primary class...he turned and told the boy that he was an "ANGRY ELF." The teacher told me that it made her whole day and she nearly peed her pants laughing. (We were visiting at a different ward, which makes it even funnier because he didn't even know the boy.)

*Chance's kindergarten teacher's name is Mrs. Rasband, he came home and told Brandon that her name is Mrs. Wristband! Close enough

*As we were driving through the farmlands, Addie blurts out from the backseat, "it's cool how HAY grows, it just randomly pops up in perfect little blocks!" (She was DEAD serious)

*We came home from camping and Addie turns to me and says, "Mom, it feels so good to be home and walk on the grass and have a cup of milk!"

*We ate at a "Thai" restaurant tonight. Addie was so sick of peanuts on all of the food. She finally looked at me and said, "what the heck, do they have a peanut tree in that kitchen or what?"

*Chance asked me, "Mom, why Jesus make me so fast?" (Basically asking why he is such a fast runner)

*Chance was looking through the neighbors fence at their dog and he came running back across the street and said " oh sick, that dog just bless you'd all over my face!" Apparently, that means the dog sneezed on him!

*Chance calls "Walkie Talkies"... "Hickey Tickies"

*Hannah told me that we are going to give her "arthritis" because we are making her camp in a tent this year. (We sold our big fifth wheel last year.) Poor kids!

*We went thru the drive-up at Wendy's and they were out of Frosty's. As we pulled away, Chance murmurs to himself: "damn, damn, damn!" (I will take full responsibility for that one!) Needless to say, we had a little chat!

*Chance says that "chocolate milk" is his favorite taste!

*Chance was picking the seat of his pants today, and I said "what's wrong son, do you have a snuggy?" And he said, "no mom, I don't have a snuggly, my bums are just stuck together.

*Tonight at dinner, Addie told us that her favorite solid food is BUTTER and her favorite liquid food is SPRAY BUTTER!

*Chance told me today that his brain was making him scared to go to school. (He just kept holding his head in his hands)

*We had a "chick" die this weekend. Of course the kids made us do a burial. Apparently it freaked Chance out, and he wouldn't sleep in his bed because he just knew there were dead chicks in the sheets, and his feet could feel the feathers!

Easton "Such a Big Miracle, in such a Little Boy"

For those that don't know, our little boy nearly drowned in a bathtub accident when he was just 7 months old. I had run a bath for myself and left Easton (who could barely crawl) in his room on the floor. I ran out to the kitchen to clean up a glass my daughter had broken. When I returned to the bath... Easton had pulled himself into the bathroom and was floating face down in the water. He had his feet pajama's on which helped him slip over the side. He was under for about two - four minutes and it took four minutes of CPR from his daddy before he took his first breath. He was taken by ambulance to "Primary's" where he stayed in the ICU overnight. He had a full recovery. We are so, so lucky! He is ONE YEAR OLD now and we're so happy that our heavenly father decided that we could keep him!!! He brings so much SUNSHINE into our lives. "We love you Eastie". I put this on my blog for my own journal, but also for people to always be aware of your kids around water...they are capable of sooo much more than you may think!
