Thanksgiving Celebrations

ThAnKsGivInG EvE

We started out the holiday with a fun trip with friends to the movies. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but the day before Thanksgiving my kids conned me into taking each of them plus a few of their buddies to the movie. Never mind all the pies I needed to make...
I dropped the older ones at "New Moon", and took my boys to see "Planet 51." It was really fun to just hang with my little guys, eat junk, and giggle together. Not my favorite show, but cute enough.

We had to stop at "Chadders" for some yummy burgers and shakes!

On Thanksgiving morning, Brandon took Chance and headed back to our old stomping grounds for the traditional....TURKEY BOWL.

Chance was able to play around with his best buddy Jackson! That was a great way to start out the day. They were soooo excited to see each other.

I told Brandon to take pictures. You can tell they took this of themselves. I'm sure he FORGOT, and was trying to sneak in some last minute photos!!!

I'm not sure why, but all Chance could talk about this year was how excited he was for pumpkin pie, and he REALLY wanted a "turkey leg." He really did DEVOUR THAT WHOLE THING.

Aunt Kimmie, totally burned her famous "orange rolls." It was so sad, yet hilarious at the same time. We all kept trying to make her feel better, but Brandon just kept rubbing it in and saying things like..."can someone bring me the electric knife to cut these rolls?"
I had to take a picture of them because it is so funny. Cute Austin just kept nibbling at his so he wouldn't make his mom feel bad. Totally reminded me of X-mas Vacation when she cooks the heck out of the turkey and they all chomp on the skin. ha ha ha....we still love ya Kim!
The kids...chillin.
Cute Austin and his girlfriend Lacy.

Amanda and Grandpa

The grandkids. Doing what they do best...fighting, and trying to look innocent.

The girls...waiting for Grandmas fabulous cookies to be brought out.

My dad, Chance and Grandma Adams.

My cute Grandpa Adams....who is well into his 90's!!! My boys just love him because he is a real cowboy!!!
I am so grateful to have such great families to spend Thanksgiving with. We are truly blessed!

Give Thanks

The greatest part of this holiday, is that we get to actually be grateful for the things we have, rather than wanting for MORE!

Last week for family night, we made turkeys and wrote all of the things we were thankful for on each and every feather!

A few of things that made everyone's thankful list included: family, friends, Jesus, and Heavenly Father.
Addie was grateful for: her cell phone, her bed, dance, cheer, and tv.
Hannah was grateful for: Young Womens, her house, water, the weekends, her bed, and dance.
Chance was grateful for: Jackson, Connor, Grandmas and Grandpa's, Aunt Di and Uncle Dan, Brody and Duke, x-box, and "the spirit."
Easton's list included: Amanda, hats, boots, spiderman, bottles, hot dogs, caillou, and Uncle Char, doritos, and baths.
Liz: DVR, zip-fizz, blogging, facebook, my house, Grey's Anatomy, Glee, a car, mouse traps, new boots, and my kitchen.
Brandon was thankful for: Utah, a job, skiing, sports, 4 seasons, his mac computer, his health, and his home.

It's always great to sit back and count all our many blessings!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Cozy weekend at home

Last weekend, we got our first snow storm. The kids were so excited when they woke up to a winter wonderland!
I'm not sure it snowed enough to warrant ALL OF THIS GEAR, but nonetheless...they took the sleds out on the golf course!

Hannah's BFF (Anna) came to visit from Salt Lake, they had a blast!

What's a cozy, snowy weekend without the "cocomotion" and chicken noodle soup???

Boys Trip

Two weekends ago, Brandon and Chance took a boys trip to Dallas. Brandon's friend and work associate "Paul Bellatone" invited the boys to stay at his home and do some fun stuff with he and his son "Ben."

They went to the rodeo.

And a Nascar race. Brandon let Chance pick his very own racer and bought him a hat. Wouldn't you know, he chose #24 Jeff Gordon...who Brandon can't stand!!!! But being a good Daddy, he let Chance choose for himself!

This is Paul and Ben.

They had such a great time. It took Chance a few days to calm down after he got home because he was so used to just having fun and being crazy! I kept saying to Brandon, "what did you do to him?"

I'm so glad they got away for some "boy" time, and I'm so happy that Chance is getting to that age where they can be such good buddies and share the same interests.

Things are lookin' up!

For months now, we have been dreading the project of cleaning our garage. It was such a mess that neither Brandon or myself wanted to tackle the job and we would find ANYTHING to do rather than clean it up! But this weekend we finally did it and here are the results.

AFTER

AHHHHH....MUCH BETTER! It only took us a couple of hours and a few hooks. Why didn't we do this sooner?

"shot or "no shot"...that is NO longer the question!

(He did get a bath time baby doll out of it!)

I have been stewing about the H1N1 shot for weeks now. Should I get it, should I get it for my kids??? I was dead set against it in the beginning, because lets face it, I'm afraid of trying anything "new" no matter what it is! But the other night I was watching the news and had a feeling that I better check into it a little more.

Brandon told me to call our pediatrician who we just love and trust, and ask him what he thought. So today, I did that...and he said that we ABSOLUTELY should all have it!

Well, they are only giving it to high risk children and babies under six months right now. But the pediatric office out here in Saratoga is giving it to kids under three TODAY!!!
So off I went and got "E" the immunization shot!!!! YIKES.

I HAVE TO SAY, I FEEL RELIEVED! I would have never forgiven myself if something happened to him and I had been warned. Kids 3 and under are considered high risk! So CONGRATS to Easton for getting the H1N1....sorry to the rest of my kids that I have not yet found them the same gift! BETTER LUCK NEXT WEEK!!!

I have the coolest Granny EVER!!!

Better yet, my kids have the coolest Great Grandma EVER!!! Who else hops on a saddle at their 86th Birthday party??? My Grandma "Dorothy" that's who!!! I admire her so much and hope that I have her spunk and love of life when I am her age. She has always been such a huge part of my life, and I have learned so much from her. Like gardening, cooking, work ethic, a love for traveling, how to serve others, and most of all...a desire to let life "keep rolling" and to just hang on and enjoy it. Happy Birthday Grandma....love you so much.
Love,
Elizabeth

Yogurt: mostly used for exfoliating and conditioning the skin!

That's why I serve it to my two year old on my bed while he watches cartoons...in hopes that he will smear it all over his body, in every crevice, and all over the comforter!!! duh

WHAT THE CRAP WAS I THINKING???? Clearly, we will be going back to "Gogurts." Much cleaner!!
P.S. I am dead when Brandon see's this post, most likely even grounded!!! We have a "no food" rule in our room. OOPSIE!!! (at least it wasn't in the car, boat, or the garage...I really would have been dead meat)
