My dear friend Margo and her family were in a terrible accident this week. One that "headlined" every news station late Sunday evening! One that's title read:
"Accident in Bluffdale, leaves 2 dead..one in critical condition"
(Margo was the one in critical condition) here's a few photo's of the rubble
The other car just came spinning across Redwood Road out of nowhere and slammed right into the Lybberts car. Rick and the kids were a little bumped and bruised. However, Margo was taken to the nearest hospital where they found out she had a broken neck. Her c6-c7 vertebrae was fractured and moved like 6mm. She had to be put in a "halo" which gives me nightmares to even think about, and once they had her spine back in place, they were able to go in and repair the damage. She had part of her hip bone removed to make part of the repair and fuse the spine back together. I kid you not....the doctors absolutely are scratching their heads in disbelief that she wasn't paralyzed in any way...THANK GOODNESS!!!
She has soared through this thing...she is my hero. I love her with all my heart. I am so lucky to have her in my life. I can't help but laugh and smile when I am with her. She feeds my soul!
Tomorrow she comes home....
There will be many struggles left to overcome as she has to wear a neckbrace 24/7 for the next 6-12 weeks, and she will be in quite a bit of pain during recovery! But she is "Super Margo" and she will fly through it all with such dignity.
Lisa and I are in charge of keeping track of the folks that want to help with kids, cleaning, and dinners. Let me just tell you, THERE IS NOW A WAITING LIST. We may have to start taking applications:) Margo is truly loved!
Here are a few photo's of her in the hospital. I know she will hate them now, but someday she will love me for taking them! Please continue to pray for her and her sweet family. We still don't know much about the couple in the other car except that they were in their 70's and driving super out of control. So sad for them and their families also.
Lisa and I took her kids up to the hospital last night for the first time....this is them picking out the perfect bouquet for their Mama.
Troy, Lindsie, and Mallory...ready to go see their Mom for the first time. They were so excited!
I wanted to post this picture just to show Margo how "rock bottom" I hit! That darn "Lisa" snuck in a shower while I was at cheer practice. But she pretty much looked as hammered as me all day. We were trying to take care of the house, the puppy, the kids (we kept all 10 between the 3 families) out of school on Monday, the laundry, and most of all the tremendous amount of phone calls between friends and neighbors! It was a full time job in itself:) Not to mention, we were emotionally a wreck...everytime I had one minute to myself in the car, I would just break down and cry. I mean "really" cry. Margo usually takes care of us...so this time, IT WAS OUR TURN. And we felt honored. There's not much you can ever do for that girl!!!!!
She is going to "cut me" for taking this. But look how sweet Mallory is looking at her! The funny thing is, she was asking Margo "how the paramedics cut her clothes off without seeing her naked?" That really concerned her:) lol
And lets not forget her sweet husband "Rick." I have never seen this man so emotional. He has not left her side in 4 days now...not even for a minute! He is so grateful for the outcome of this whole thing. This is him talking to our Bishop and his wife Jolie. Jolie is crying because she just saw the xrays of Margo's spine. It is a miracle. Life is so precious!
Now, here's my favorite photo of all....that's my girl! I cry every time i look at it!!!
Her first walk!!! yipeeeeee
Love you "Margarita!"

Pumpkin Patch and Pony Rides
Tonight for family night, we went down the street to the "Evans Family Farm" to pick pumpkins!
So, out we went...into the pitch black field! And out we came....with 4 large pumpkins and Brandon pushing the wheel barrel and using his cell phone for a flashlight! It was pretty comical!
Then the kids decided we needed to do a pony ride before we left. The guy was so nice running the ponies and he let all four kids go around like 300 times.
Brandon and the farmer just chillin ' with the dog! I was over talking to Ma Evans about how the stars from "Sister Wives" had just shot an episode there last Saturday and it will air in March. Clearly we don't get out much...this was very exciting to us!:)
And this....is the final shot of Chance with a normal face! Looks so happy doesn't he????
After we left, we decided to grab some ice cream at Arctic Circle. As we pulled in the parking lot, Brandon and I turned around to see what the kids wanted. As we got to Chance, we both gasped and then Chance said, "my eye feels weird." Brandon said, "your eye looks weird."
Needless to say, he went to bed with a dose a benadryl, a swollen eye, and a stuffed up nose! I'm not sayin' for sure, but he may be allergic to ponies? lol
Oh, it got worse, much worse. But when it got so bad he couldn't see out of it...he made me stop taking pictures. Something about not wanting me to post them on my blog? Weird, what kind of a mom would do that??? I'd never post pictures of my childs eye swollen shut on my blog....how dare he accuse me of that kind of torture:)

Reunited
I have been so blessed the past few days. I was able to see my sister (that i have not seen in almost 3 years), and I was also reunited with my BFF from my childhood (that I haven't seen in over 4 long years)!
It's so funny how with both of them, we can go forever and not see each other, and then when we finally do...it's as though no time has passed at all!
Muggs is doing great. She lives in California where she does hair part time and also manages a Cosmo-Prof. She has the cutest apartment I've ever seen. She is so talented and creative. I just love her to pieces:) We only had 4 short days together, but we made the most of it!
Amy and I could only get together for a couple of hours. We had a protein shake together for breakfast, laughed our heads off, and drove around giving her a tour of my new home town! As usual, it was as if we were never apart! In high school, we never left each others side. We cheered together, slept at each others houses every night, and wouldn't even date people that weren't friends! It was so great to be together again. We were just bummed that we didn't have time for our kiddos to get together. But I will be planning a trip to Arizona to stay a few days and swim in her pool:)
Note: Easton took this picture (how do ya like that Jen Culley...watch out for this guy)! This would explain the crouching position!

Snowbird 2010
We had another fantastic week up at Snowbird this fall! My posts will probably look similar each year, but it's fun to see the kids growing up and changing. This is one of our favorite traditions, and I hope we can gather up there for years to come!
The boys relaxing...sort of!
Hannah's big purchase at the "Octoberfest!" Her favorite style of bag!
We did some ropes course as a family! It was so funny. I had to help Chance and he went on the scariest stuff, I was screaming the whole time.
It wouldn't be Octoberfest without getting a "face painting."
Hannah would read and do her homework out on the patio. We still had to do school work even though we were on vacation:)
The boys crashed early from the fun-filled days.
This guy was so cool. His name was "Spencer" and he was in charge of the camp for the kids this year. Of course, my kids were the only ones that showed up to camp, and so they got the royal treatment! Chance even said that he's going to let "Spencer" be in charge of his birthday party next year. ha ha ha
This is what happens when Mama sleeps in:( yikes
"Thanks again Snowbird...for another fantastic year."

OUR BASEMENT REVEAL!
We started the project of finishing our basement back in April...
Clearly, it was a HUGGEEEEE project!
But with the help of Chris White and his framing skills, and Brandon's cousin Chis Culley and his knowledge of fantastic subs, we were able to finish the project in 4 lonngggg months!
Urghhhh, makes me want to barf just thinking about the whole process! So much work, so much arguing over money:), so much babysitting workers and staying home every single day, so many strangers using my bathroom, and so many decisions! Dang, I'm glad we did it, but dang, I'M GLAD IT'S FINISHED.
And now, we are finally enjoying the END RESULT!!!
Family room, eating area, and kitchen! "Bring on the parties!"
The Kitchen:
This was my baby. it was so hard to decide exactly what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier with the result. So cozy and basementish (if that's a word)?
Work-out room (complete with one piece of equipment)lol
The girls bathroom. It has another sink just like this one, they are right across from each other so the girls won't have to fight over bathroom time! We also did the toilet and shower seperate from the vanities...again, to cut down on the arguing! Can you tell they are 24 short months apart???:)
Addie's room
Maybe our favorite room, considering both Brandon and I have a bit of O.C.D about organization! THE STORAGE ROOM. Ahhh, no longer are there stacks of crap in the garage! Whoopeeeee
Hannah's room.
Shower!
We love our new space, and the kids love having their own rooms! Basements RoCk!!!!!
