Last weekend, I took my kids camping up in the high Uintas to stay in my Grandpa Wendells cabin. I followed my dad up there because I had never driven it by myself. He also has a little cabin up there, and we just had a super dooper weekend together!
I was so proud of myself and my kids. We worked together to pack up the car (with help from Uncle Chris on loading the baggage trailer), and off we went to enjoy the great outdoors. We had yummy breakfasts, spaghetti and garlic bread, and even a great meal at the "Defa's Ranch Cafe."
My dad loves to tinker around, he was always fixing something. Here, he is fixing a deck. Easton got ahold of the crow bar, tripped and fell and it stabbed into his forehead. He was fine, but that night he got a fever of 103.5. I freaked out because i thought he had blood poisoning or something. I drove him down to Primary Childrens and spent 5 hours waiting around for them to tell me he had a fluke virus!
That was crappy, but glad he was ok. We drugged him up and headed back up to the ranch to finish what we had started. Plus I had left my dad up there with all the kids and the dog, so I had to return!
My kids got along so well. I remember why I love camping so much and I don't know why I don't do it more? They search for snipes at night, play with the dog, enjoy cards and watching movies together. So fun!
However, we did miss Brandon terribly. He was on the dreaded Asia trip!
